1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs

For the Cinnamon Frosting:
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
2 cups (250g) powdered sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2–3 tbsp milk or heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Heat the milk in a small saucepan until just simmering.
Remove from heat, add the chai tea bags, and steep for 10 minutes. Discard tea bags and allow the milk to cool.

Fill cupcake liners about 2/3 full and bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool completely before frosting.
Beat butter until creamy.
Gradually add powdered sugar and cinnamon.
Add milk and vanilla extract, beating until smooth and fluffy.
